Shahid Afridi has finally announced his retirement from T20 international Cricket as well. As we all know Shahid Afridi has already retired from Test Cricket in 2011 and He had also retired from ODI Cricket after World Cup 2015 with Misbah UL Haq. Shahid Afridi was playing T20 Cricket and he did captaincy for Pakistan National T20 team in World T20 Cup 2016. Pakistan T20 team didn’t perform well under Afridi captaincy in T20 World India and Pakistan Team eliminated from World in group stage. After Shahid Afridi decided to step down from Captaincy of Pakistan T20i Team and Pakistan Cricket Board selected young Pakistan wicket keeper Sarfraz Ahmed for captaincy of T20 international Cricket. Shahid Afridi didn’t retire from T20i and he was ready to play once again for Pakistan T20i under captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed. Shahid Afridi also requested of Pakistan Cricket Board for providing farewell of him and gave chance to play last T20 international match as a farewell. Pakistan Cricket Board didn’t take interest for providing farewell match of Shahid Afridi.
In the February Pakistan Super League started in United Arab Emirates and Shahid Afridi is playing for Peshawar Zalmi as a key player. Recently Afridi performed by bat against Karachi Kings and Afridi made 54 RUNS in just 28 balls. Afridi also got man of the match in this match and came for press conference and finally he announced his retirement from T20 international as well in this press conference. Shahid Afridi said that he has decided that he will not play for Pakistan anymore and he will just play different Cricket T20 league of the World for his Fan. He said that he is enjoying Cricket and now he is just playing for his Fans and he will play T20 leagues till 2 or 3 years more.
